The Bournemouth office of south coast law firm Lester Aldridge has welcome four new trainee solicitors.

Starting out on their two-year journey to become qualified solicitors are Theo Westrip, Gavin Fernandes, Madeline Cornmell and Alex Phillips, who bring the total number of trainees at the firm to 16.

Across this time period, they’ll undertake a six-monthly ‘seat’ in various departments across the firm’s three offices, working with variety of clients from large, high-profile corporates to high net-worth individuals, while supported and supervised by qualified solicitors.

The path they’re starting out on has proved fruitful for a number of the firm’s current partners and solicitors, with previous alumni of the programme including Managing Partner Matthew Barrow.

Matthew said: “I am delighted to welcome our new trainees to the firm. I look forward to watching them develop as lawyers in their time with us and to see what the future will hold for them.

“We are incredibly proud of our trainee scheme; we see our trainee solicitors as future leaders of the business.”

  • The window for applying for 2026 training contracts with Lester Aldridge is open from 1 January until 30 April 2024; find out more here.
