Each week we shine the spotlight on a member of Dorset’s business community and ask him, or her, for answers to our part fun/part serious questionnaire. This time…

Her favourite dish is seafood, she’d like to share a car with actor Chris Hemsworth (and if it breaks down somewhere romantic well…great), injustice and litter make her angry and her favourite holiday location is Latin America.

Justine Wyness, Ecommerce and Digital Business Consultant, takes the 20 Questions’ hotseat.

Question: What is your favourite TV show?

Answer: The Wombles.

Q: Who would you like to share a car with?

A: Chris Hemsworth. And if we could break down somewhere romantic that would be great… thanks.

Q: The best bit of my job is…?

A: Being able to work from anywhere. I spent a month in Peru before lockdown and used co-working spaces whilst exploring an amazing country.

Q: And the worst…?

A: I’ve had to do a lot of commuting in my career, some of it fun (Frankfurt) and some not so much (Worksop!). Too much time wasted in traffic or on trains… and a lot of early mornings and long days.

Q: Who was your childhood hero?

A: My brother and sister. I was the youngest of three and I pretty much doted on them both.

Q: What’s your favourite smell?

A: Cut grass.

Q: Where’s your favourite place in Dorset?

A: That’s hard. Most recently the walk through the Upper Gardens to Coy Pond always cheers me up – in all seasons. And the Jurassic Coast is just stunning. But I love the New Forest too. Hmm.

Q: What advice would you give to anyone starting out on a career?

A: If you’re not one of the lucky ones who knows exactly what you want to do – try a few things before you settle for one and be open to opportunities.

Q: What was your first record/CD?

A: My dad gave me a copy of Swan Lake, and my brother a single of Please Please Me (I still have both) – but the first one I bought myself was Super Trooper by Abba. Don’t judge me, I was a teenage girl!

Q: What gets you angry?

A: Injustice. And litter.

Q: Do you have a favourite piece of music?

A: Too many. Radio 6 – in particular Gilles Peterson – got me through lockdown. I went for long walks listening to loads of new [to me] jazz tunes. I still do!

Q: What are the qualities you look for in a new employee?

A: Enthusiasm.

Q: What’s your favourite food or dish?

A: Seafood. Somewhere sunny. With a glass of crisp white wine… <sigh>.

Q: Steamed sponge pudding and custard or a plate of melon?

A: Both.

Q: Name the best thing about living/working in Dorset?

A: Being able to swim in the sea before work (in the summer – I’m a fair weather sea swimmer). And being able to grab a local Bad Hand coffee and take a short break to see the waves and watch the surfers. You can’t do that in Shoreditch.

Q: If you were Prime Minister for the day what would be the first thing you do?

A: Change the voting system to Proportional Representation.

Q: What’s your biggest frustration?

A: Litter. Especially on the beach. And especially cigarette butts – did you know they leach toxic chemicals into the water and take up to ten years to break down?

Q:  Where’s your favourite holiday location?

A: I’ve been really lucky and been to some amazing places, its too hard to compare. I love Latin America in particular. I’m learning Spanish so I can converse better with the locals.

Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?

A: Working and playing somewhere where the sun shines almost daily and people respect the environment.

Q: What would you like to be remembered for?

A: Being kind.
