Each week we shine the spotlight on a prominent person in Dorset and ask him, or her, for answers to our part fun/part serious questionnaire. This time…

His favourite smell is pine, he gets angry at bad design and websites that don’t work properly, chooses his Grandpa as his childhood hero, and looks for honesty, integrity, shared values, good banter and a good work ethic in a new employee.

Ollie Tigwell, Founder, Lightly Salted, takes the ‘hot seat’ for our popular 20 Questions.

Question: What is your favourite TV show?

Answer: I am really enjoying Stranger Things; that would have to be my current favourite.

Q: Who would you like to share a car with?

A: Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. I am a big Apple fan!

Q: The best bit of my job is…?

A: The relationships with my clients.

Q: And the worst?

A: Sales and admin. Yes, I know, I should just pay someone else to do it!

Q: Who was your childhood hero?

A: My Grandpa.

Q: What’s your favourite smell?

A: Pine – it brings back lots of good memories from living in Kenya.

Q: Where’s your favourite place in Dorset?

A: Worbarrow Bay, on the Isle of Purbeck. It’s always so quiet there.

Q: What advice would you give to anyone starting out on a career?

A: Think carefully about what you want to do, make your decision, then work really hard at it. It’s ok to fail; it doesn’t mean that you are a failure.

Q: What was your first record/CD?

A: My first album was Demon Days by the Gorillaz.

Q: What gets you angry?

A: Bad design and websites that don’t work properly.

Q: Do you have a favourite piece of music?

A: ‘Clair de Lune’ by Claude Debussy.

Q: What are the qualities you look for in a new employee?

A: Honesty, integrity, shared values, good banter and a good work ethic.

Q: What’s your favourite food or dish?

A: Sort me out with a stone baked pizza, top it with caramelised onions, goats’ cheese, black olives, BBQ sauce and I’m a very happy man. Even happier with a Session IPA from Eight Arch Brewery Company.

Q: Steamed sponge pudding and custard or a plate of melon?

A: Plate of melon, especially as it is 27 degrees Celsius at the time of writing!

Q: Name the best thing about living/working in Dorset?

A: Being able to take my dog (English Springer Spaniel puppy) for a walk in a big woodland, without having to jump in the car.

Q: If you were Prime Minister for the day what would be the first thing you do?

A: Accelerate green policy to reduce our reliance on non-renewable energy sources and reduce the cost of electric cars to get petrol/diesel cars off the road and recycled.

Q: What’s your biggest frustration?

A: At the moment it’s that the decisions of other nations are having such disastrous effects on the cost of living for people up and down the country.

Q:  Where’s your favourite holiday location?

A: Norway. I had such a great time there a few years ago and would love to go back.

Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?

A: I would love to still be in Dorset with my family and for Lightly Salted to be known for being the most trusted website agency in the county for small businesses.

Q: What would you like to be remembered for?

A: Having integrity, for being kind.
