Ferndown Community Support, which supports communities in East Dorset, has announced its Christmas activity programme for this year.

This year sees the return of the organisation’s Mission Santa Sacks, two free festive town trails in Ferndown and West Moors, a ‘big Christmas buffet’ for isolated and/or struggling people and a big Christmas Fayre.

The Christmas Fayre will be held at Ferndown Day Centre on Sunday 19th November from 11am to 3pm.

A range of festive activities will be on offer, including Storytime with Santa, live music, craft stalls, homemade cakes, mulled wine, hot dogs and drinks, a raffle, tombola and games, guinea pigs from Miss Honeys Guinea Pig Rescue, a second hand toy stall and craft activities.

Free to enter, money raised on the day will go to FCS’ Mission Santa Sacks 2023, which, for the fourth year running, will be delivering sacks to children in the local area who would likely not get a visit from Santa this year.

FCS is aiming to raise at least £3250 in donations to achieve their goal this year, allowing them to deliver the sacks which contain a hat, scarf, sweet treats, books, stationary and toiletries as well as games and toys.

As well as attending the Fayre, anyone looking to support the scheme can also donate money via the FCS website. The organisation is also calling for donations, needing: toiletries, stationary, hats, scarves and gloves, outdoor games, cinema vouchers and sweet treats.

Businesses can also sponsor sacks or provide raffles prizes by contacting Ferndown Community Support.

Finally, FCS has also organised two Christmas trails in Ferndown and West Moors. Free to take part in, they will be available from the 23rd November to 21st December.
