A new course run by BCHA Learn begins next month with an aim to help local adults improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
The programme starts at Boscombe Engagement Hub on September 18th and runs once a week for six weeks.
It’s set to cover five modules – Mental Health and Wellbeing, Healthy Lifestyles and a Balanced Diet, Understanding and Managing Stress, Building Confidence and Self Esteem, and Money Matters.
Course Tutor Mark Shaw said: “All Being Well offers a holistic approach to improving your health and personal, social and general wellbeing.
“This in turn builds confidence and can help participants to move in a positive direction, or provide a stepping stone into volunteering or employment.”
Each of the modules will be taught in small, friendly groups and at a relaxed pace.
Participants will be offered a free health MOT by a local NHS practitioner and receive an NOCN Level 1 qualification in Personal Wellbeing upon completing the course.
Mark added: “Whether you’d like to use the course as a gentle way to get back on track, or as a helpful route into work, we look forward to hearing from you.”
BCHA Learn is the employability arm of charitable housing trust BCHA. They’ve organised the programme in partnership with BCP Skills & Learning Adult Education.
BCP residents aged 19 and over are invited to attend the course, which will cover half of all travel expenses and provide a free, loaded SIM card to each participant.
