The firm’s family law team, now six strong, has recently been bolstered by the addition of Bryony Spicer, a bright and experienced solicitor.

Additionally, two new placement students, Susie Moore and Isobel Forward, have joined the firm, reflecting Frettens’ commitment to nurturing new talent.

Bryony Spicer joins the family team

Bryony Spicer, an accomplished solicitor with experience in various areas of family law, including matters involving children, financial remedy proceedings, and court orders, has joined the Frettens team in Ringwood.

After completing her law degree at the University of Sussex in 2020, Bryony earned a distinction in her LPC and Master’s at the University of Law. She completed her training contract at a high street firm in Brighton, where she developed a particular interest in family law.

Expressing her enthusiasm for her new role, Bryony said: “I’m very excited to have joined Frettens. Everyone I’ve spoken to has been so welcoming and friendly!

“The firm has exceeded its reputation for being a modern and accommodating workplace, and I am looking forward to spending more time with everyone.”

Andrew Stynes, Head of Family at Frettens, praised Bryony’s arrival, stating: “Bryony is a fantastic lawyer with bags of experience helping family law clients, making her an excellent addition to the team.

“Her addition enhances the balance of both junior and senior members of the team, allowing us to provide the best possible service to our clients. I for one am excited to see the positive impact that Bryony has on the team.”

Managing Partner Matthew Fretten also welcomed Bryony to the firm, adding: “It is great that an increasing number of young, ambitious solicitors like Bryony want to join us as we continue to grow.”

New placement students bring fresh energy

Alongside Bryony’s appointment, Frettens has also welcomed two new placement students, Susie Moore and Isobel Forward, to its Christchurch office.

Susie Moore, who completed a two-year law degree at Bournemouth University, will be assisting the Employment and Insolvency departments.

Before her studies, Susie gained practical experience at both the Magistrates’ Courts and Bournemouth Crown Court. Commenting on her placement, Susie said: “I am delighted to be undertaking my placement year at Frettens. Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly, and I am really looking forward to putting into practice some of what I have learned throughout my degree.”

Isobel Forward, currently pursuing an LLB law degree at Bournemouth University, will be working with the Residential Conveyancing team. She brings experience in various legal areas, including criminal, family, wills & tax, and property law.

Isobel said: “I am very excited to be starting my placement year with Frettens. I have received a very warm welcome, and an in-depth introduction in my first few days helped me settle in and feel comfortable in the work I will be completing.”

Managing Partner Matthew Fretten expressed his enthusiasm for the new recruits, stating: “The placement programme is something we have supported at Frettens for a while now and, alongside our graduate scheme, it forms a big part of our growth strategy. Susie and Isobel look to be a perfect fit for us, and they are just two of the many hires we are set to make this summer.”
