Bring your deckchairs and enjoy seven hours of live outdoor music in Christchurch – and all for free.

Stir Events Ltd is working with the BCP Events team, under the banner of Festival Coast Live, to bring three events to Saxon Square.
Branded as ‘Summer in the Square’, they’ll offer both locals and visitors a themed music experience from 13.00 until 20.00.
The first event, on Saturday July 24, is called Saxon Square goes vintage.
Visitors will be entertained on stage with music from the Funky Little Choir, Andy Kennett as Elvis, The Fifinellas, Retro Rita and Ben Poczapsky with DJ Andy Shailer from the Crazy Rhythm Jukebox.
The second event, a week later on Saturday July 31, is called Motown Madness with music from Sara Harris and Gem Rose to name but two.
The third, and final, event on Saturday August 21 – Smooth Summer Vibes – features an impressive line up including Susie Kimber, The Secret Spot Surf Band and Ben Poczapsky.
Mandy Polkey, MD of Stir Events, said Saxon Square was a great event location, sitting snuggled in the historic market town and surrounded by shops and restaurants.

She added: “It’s a joy to be able to bring a range of my favourite artists and bands to the Square.
“It is the first time for a long time that this location has been used for music events.
“As a venue it cries out to be used for a wide range of activities.

“We hope locals and visitors alike will come and enjoy these community events and, at the same time, visit the shops and lovely town that they are located within.
“We have a great range of live music performers from afternoon into evening so the message is: bring your deck chairs and enjoy!”
