A big-hearted hair and beauty salon provided free back-to-school haircuts to members of Poole-based charity Waste Not Want Not.
Evolve’s action was described as “a wonderful act of kindness”.
The salon, in Ashley Road, Parkstone, donated a total of 24 haircuts.

Sarah Blewden, Evolve’s Owner, said: “Over the last 18 months we are all aware of the struggles and pressures put on families during these unprecedented times.
“We are delighted to do something to help our local community.”
Poole Mayor Cllr Julie Bagwell showed her support by visiting Evolve, saying it was an “absolute pleasure” to pop in.
Waste Not Want Not describes itself as a social supermarket.
It supports local families who don’t have sufficient disposable income and provides access to everyday essentials.

Erika Sloper, Charity Project Manager, said: “This is such a wonderful act of kindness.
“Many families struggle with the cost of back-to school uniforms and would cut their child’s hair themselves.
“This is such a treat; we are very grateful to Debs (Manager) and her team for their support.”
Poole Waste Not Want Not (PWNWN) became a registered charity in 2016.

It collects foods from supermarkets and then displays the goods in the rear of its shop in Poole High Street.
Operating Monday to Saturday from 11am to 3pm, it allows registered members a choice of food, fresh fruits, vegetables, frozen, chilled, toiletries and treats they would not normally be able to afford.
The charity says this leads to a greater sense of dignity, choice and control and facilitates budgeting skills as well as providing access to affordable food.
PWNWN is developing other services such as menu planning and budgeting.

The charity is applying to take part in this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge, the UK’s biggest online match funding campaign.
As part of the application, it needs key supporters to make promises of funding or pledges.
These will be used as match funds to double online donations made to PWNWN during the campaign.
The charity is aiming to raise a total of £1,000 in pledges to take part in the Christmas Challenge.
It is urging anyone prepared to make a pledge of £100, or more, to help reach its target by completing the online form.
The deadline is 11.59pm on Sunday September 5.
More details can be found by clicking here.
So far £720 of the £1,000 has been raised in pledges.
