Senior promotions announced at Goadsby Commercial

Two high-fliers at the Bournemouth office of Goadsby Commercial have secured promotion.

James Edwards, Business Space, Retail and Investments, pictured left, has been promoted to the Commercial Board as Director while Grant Cormack, Retail and Investments, is now Divisional Director.

Paul Stewart, Managing Director, Goadsby Commercial, said: “If there is one thing 2020 taught us all it is we have to adapt and get on with life.

“Grant and James have epitomised the need to get on with business.

“Due to their performance in managing teams, developing new property knowledge in different sectors, and exceeding personal fee targets, there was only one thing we could do to reward them – promotion.

“Grant [pictured right] is well respected by colleagues and clients alike.

“His ability to get stuck in and become a successful investment agent on top of his retail grounding has set him apart.

“In typical Goadsby fashion, Grant joined us as an apprentice in 2009 and has been on an upward trajectory ever since.

“He also happens to be a very good sportsman in cricket and football when life permits.

“James is another boy to man story having joined us with a degree in his back pocket in 2000.

“His determination and focus to transact letting and sales of offices, retail, industrial property, mixed use investments, development opportunities, are his core strengths.

“James has also adapted to working for individual property owners, hugely successful independent owned property companies and corporate property funds.

“His ability to work with all manner of clients shows his property intelligence and he is key to us retaining a dominant presence in the Central Southern Region.”

Paul added that a Zoom celebration was the best the company could do for now but: “We are looking forward to being able to celebrate further later in the year.”

Wellbeing expert appointed as women’s charity’s first deputy manager

A charity which helps support and empower vulnerable women across Christchurch and surrounding areas has appointed a Deputy Manager for the first time in its ten-year history.

Bev McKay takes on the new role at The Water Lily Project (WLP).

Bev, pictured left, has worked for WLP for six months as a support worker providing one to one counselling for women struggling with a variety of complex needs.

They include mental health issues, domestic abuse, financial hardship or dealing with the aftermath of addictions.

A qualified mental health and wellbeing trainer consultant and coach, she brings a huge amount of knowledge on mental health to this new appointment.

Bev is also trained in counselling, a tutor in mental health and wellbeing awareness courses and a recognised mental health first aider as well as a qualified nurse, having begun her career in nursing.

Bev, a mother of five and a practising Christian, said: “My decision to take on this new position at the Water Lily Project is very much governed by a clear vision that God has been directing me to use my skills in a valuable role.

“To be part of this Christian-based charity allows me to fulfil this calling and use my professional skills to support, nurture and help people grow, develop and remain safe.”

Liz Carter, Manager of The Water Lily Project, said: “The work our charity does is increasing all the time as more women come to us, especially as we find ourselves in another lockdown.

“Bev’s expertise in mental health is so valuable and will bring a whole level of new support we can offer women suffering from the stress and mental impact of this pandemic and its effects beyond.

“Having a deputy manager to share the workload will also allow us more time for focus on strategic initiatives such as securing more stable funding to ensure WLP is at the forefront of helping to empower local women to make long-term changes for the better.”

Natalka joins Digital Storm as new Marketing Manager

Digital Storm, the Bournemouth-based web and marketing agency, has appointed Natalka Antoniuk as its new Marketing Manager.

She joins with a wealth of marketing expertise, having run her own digital projects as well as leading on content and PR strategies for another business.

She has also featured in leading online publications such as G2, Site Pro News and Event Industry News.

Natalka is now available to offer advice to any businesses looking to level up their digital marketing strategy.

On starting her new role, Natalka, pictured left, said “It’s been a whirlwind.

“I don’t think anyone can plan for starting a new job amidst a global pandemic.

“We’ve put strategies in place for 2021 and now it’s a case of execution.
