Each week we shine the spotlight on a member of Dorset’s business community and ask him, or her, for answers to our part fun/part serious questionnaire. This time…
Her biggest frustration is bad manners, she’d love to go on a road trip around New Zealand with Sir David Attenborough, chooses the beach at Branksome Chine as her favourite place in Dorset and would like to be remembered as being a great friend and as someone who cared about other people.
Krista Sharp, CEO, MYTIME Young Carers charity, takes the 20 Questions’ hotseat.

Question: What is your favourite TV show?
Answer: A psychological crime drama- Criminal Minds, Silent Witness, Waking the Dead…
Q: Who would you like to share a car with?
A: I would love to go on a road trip round New Zealand with Sir David Attenborough, listening to his soothing voice and learning about all the incredible wildlife there.
Q: The best bit of my job is…?
A: Spending time with the young carers we work with. They are such incredible young people and I’m always left in awe of their kindness and selflessness.
Q: And the worst…?
A: The fact I always have a nagging fear that I don’t actually know what I’m doing!
Q: Who was your childhood hero?
A: Sally Gunnell. I wanted to be a runner when I grew up and I will never forget watching her win Gold in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
Q: What’s your favourite smell?
A: A weird one but my dog Ernie has the softest hair behind his ears and it smells amazing!
Q: Where’s your favourite place in Dorset?
A: The beach at Branksome Chine. When I first moved here from London I lived just up the road and I went to the beach every day.
Q: What advice would you give to anyone starting out on a career?
A: Ask lots of questions, listen hard to the answers and don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Q: What was your first record/CD?
A: The Immaculate Collection by Madonna. I spent hours and hours with my friends belting out Borderline and Holiday. The neighbours loved it!
Q: What gets you angry?
A: Injustice. I get so frustrated when I see people being ignored because the people in charge don’t think their voice is important.
Q: Do you have a favourite piece of music?
A: Exile by Show of Hands. I love folk music and in my mind it doesn’t get better than this.
Q: What are the qualities you look for in a new employee?
A: Passion, commitment and a desire to make a difference.
Q: What’s your favourite food or dish?
A: I love food, all food. Except sea bass…no one likes sea bass!
Q: Steamed sponge pudding and custard or a plate of melon?
A: Steamed sponge pudding and custard for sure.
Q: Name the best thing about living/working in Dorset?
A: Dorset is beautiful. We are surrounded by the most incredible nature and it feels like being on holiday every day.
Q: If you were Prime Minister for the day what would be the first thing you do?
A: Fund schools properly. I would make sure the schools that serve the most disadvantaged communities had everything they needed to help their students achieve everything they were capable of.
Q: What’s your biggest frustration?
A: Bad manners.
Q: Where’s your favourite holiday location?
A: Anywhere where there is great diving or snowboarding, or failing that the mountains.
Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?
A: Running the UK’s leading young carer charity.
Q: What would you like to be remembered for?
A: Being a great friend and as someone who cared about other people.
