A ‘small and mighty’ branding agency has won its third national award in two years.

We Are 778 was named joint winner in the Print Design category of The Drum Recommends Awards.

The four-strong business scooped the award – based entirely on client feedback – in the face of fierce competition from agencies many times its size.

We Are 778 was also a finalist in five other categories, including client service.

It’s the third national Drum award for We Are 778 in the last two years.

The Bournemouth-based agency won the Client Service category in 2019 and also the Creativity & Innovation award in The Drum Recommends Digital Awards 2019.

Simon Rodway, Founder and Managing Director, said: “To be recognised once again among the top marketing and design agencies is an enormous accolade and testament to the hard work and creative brilliance of the team.

“We are a small and mighty agency – and with the energy, ideas and experience to deliver in a big way for our clients.

“This award, and the recognition we received across so many categories, demonstrates just how much they appreciate and value what we do, making it all the more special.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to them all for their support.”

We Are 778 was founded by Simon, 41, in 2013.

Clients include estate agents Spencers New Forest, Douch Family Funeral Directors, Jigsaw Interior Architecture, Harbour Hotels Group and many others in sectors such as property development and the hospitality and leisure industries.

Simon said: “I’ve always treated clients with the utmost respect and been very loyal.

“Spencers New Forest have been with us from Day One.

“At that time they had just one office. Now they have five branches, 50 staff and sell multi-million pound properties.

“The close working relationships we develop with our clients mean they trust us to understand what they want and need.

“We then deliver it with flair and creativity, producing impactful designs which connect with people.

“I pride myself on the fact that we keep our clients for the long-term, really getting to know their businesses.”

Simon is married to Sarah, a Director of Redbox Recruitment.

The couple have a daughter, Hattie, seven, and live in Broadstone.

Simon said that after the initial shock and concern about the coronavirus pandemic, and its effect on business, he now felt “huge optimism” for the future.

He added: “We’re small, agile but hugely creative and innovative.

“I think agencies like us will really come into their own when things start returning to normal.

“I’m so looking forward to getting back together again.

“I really miss the office banter, creativity and buzz.”

The Drum Recommends is part of The Drum, a global media platform for design, marketing and branding professionals.

It was set up to help brands choose agencies based on the ratings they receive from their clients across a range of areas.

Every year The Drum Recommends Awards celebrate the top agencies in each category, based on ratings logged by brands at recommendedagecies.com, The Drum’s database of some 9,000 agencies across the globe.

We Are 778 shared the Print Design award with SO Marketing in Staffordshire.

The category was open to all agencies, irrespective of size.
