"I'm glad I made the move" says partner who is heading law firm's new private client team

A new Partner has joined law firm Trethowans to establish a private client team in Bournemouth

Adam Scott specialises in providing advice to high net worth individuals relating to wills, trusts and probate, power of attorney and complex inheritance tax issues.

He lives in Christchurch and has more than ten years of private client experience.

Adam previously held positions at directorship and partnership level at other law firms in the area.

He also jointly headed up one of the largest private client teams on the south coast,

Adam said: “I’ve always wanted to work for Trethowans.

“It works across many different industry sectors, so when clients need different services they can be located quickly and efficiently.

“The team has made me feel very welcome – I’m very glad I made the move.”

Adam joined at the start of the latest lockdown but he said the firm was set up well for remote working.

In his spare time he enjoys yoga to stay mentally fit and healthy.

Chris Whiteley, pictured left, Trethowans’ Managing Partner, said: “Adam is passionate about helping clients prepare for different eventualities in life and skilled at putting them at ease when it comes to discussing sensitive subjects, such as wills.

“We are looking forward to seeing him build his team and develop a portfolio of business.”

Trethowans has been offering legal services to businesses and individuals in the south of England for more than 150 years.

It has offices in Poole, Bournemouth, Southampton, Salisbury and Winchester.

The firm has a team of approximately 250 people, including more than 40 partners.

It works for major commercial clients including Ladbrokes plc, Jewson (part of the Saint Gobain Group), Pizza Hut, Nando’s, Britvic plc and Rowanmoor.

Sponsorships include AFC Bournemouth Community Foundation, Bournemouth Pavilion and Poole Pirates speedway.

Trethowans also supports a number of local charities with fundraising and donations.
