The first ever Gillingham Business awards attracted an array of the town’s businesses, with a local bridal boutique picking up three awards.
A range of businesspeople joined the town’s Mayor, Cllr Barry Von Clemens, at The Old Brewery Café and Kitchen to celebrate the awards ceremony.
Organiser Nigel Reeve of Marketing West Events said “The Gillingham awards follow on from the local business awards we now run right across Dorset from Dorchester in the West to Bournemouth in the East.
“They are all about supporting and celebrating the businesses that are the backbone of local economies and make such a contribution to jobs and entrepreneurship in the business community”.
The happy winners included Abbey Starr of Farnfields, voted Rising Star of the Year – an award sponsored by major local company the Dextra Group.
Taylor & Co Lettings won Independent Business of the Year, sponsored by Hub Accountants, Customer Service was won by Station Road Garage 1912 Ltd and sponsored by ActionCOACH.
Other winners included Dorset Tech, Natura Care Solutions, Franks Maintenance Group, Tops Day Nursery, the BV Magazine, and The Old Brewery Café & Kitchen.
A very new business in Gillingham, usually helping people on their Big Day, had a very special one of their own as Brides of Dorset walked off very happily with three awards including New Business of the Year and Overall Business of the Year.
