Organisers of the inaugural Sherborne Business Awards have declared the event as a big success with gongs handed out to the town’s finest businesses and individuals.

The Cross Keys won three awards – Overall Business of the Year; the Café, Pub, Hospitality Award and Sherborne Business Leader of the Year for Mo Gherras – while Vineyards of Sherborne was named Retail Business of the Year and Forces Fit Bootcamp received the award for New Business of the Year.
The results were announced at a Covid compliant ceremony on June 3.
The event had a reduced audience so was also streamed live to ensure no-one missed out.

Nigel Reeve, of organisers Marketing West, said: “The entries were of the highest standard and showed the resilience of local businesses.
“Entries were twice the number we expected.
“One of the highest number of entries was in the New Business category.
“After the year we have all had, starting a new business now deserves full recognition.
“Thanks to all the sponsors for supporting the awards.
“Without them these awards would not have been possible.”
