As one of the UK’s leading commercial vehicle recruitment companies, Kemp Recruitment, based in Bournemouth, still retains the personal touch.

Mark Kemp started out over a decade ago with one person and a desire to improve the recruitment process for everyone involved.

This month the 40 people he employs, in Commercial Vehicle Recruitment, moved into a newly refurbished, redesigned and renovated offices in Bournemouth town centre.

The ‘office-warming’ party last week was a celebration for staff of the remarkable growth the company has seen and continues to see.

The move will also serve as a boost to Bournemouth town centre, after filling the vacant building and increasing footfall in the area for nearby businesses.

Mark puts his success down to investing in the talent of the local community and building up his people to help others find their ideal role.

Mark says: “What we’ve tried to do over the last few years is take care of things ourselves. We brought our finance department in-house, hired an Operations Director and trained and developed our managers.”

“How we operate is to refrain from hiring outside recruitment consultants and instead employee individuals with a good sales

background, rather than recruitment, and put them through our training school.

“The premise being, they will process through the ranks to managerial positions. Some [One] of those employees are in Divisional Manager roles.

“There’s plenty of blood, sweat and tears on that path but we’ve proven that it works with the growth within our company. These building blocks mean accelerated growth and we are already looking at a new property now our purchased office is up and running.”

“When you look at how many trucks you see going down your motorway, you can see how busy the market is and we’re looking to hire people.

“As our head count increases, we can expand to new markets and better service the businesses and candidates we work with.”
The move comes after acquisition of the previously empty office space on Old Christchurch Road in the latter half of 2022, and will soon see 25 new team members moving in.

Sam Paterson-Crofts, Operations Director, added, “Kemp Recruitment is currently on the lookout for new talent as we continue to expand our team and services. We remain committed to providing exceptional recruitment solutions to our clients and look forward to continuing our growth and success in the years to come.”
