Annette Geyser is the first to admit that health and fitness is a struggle for many people – and she’s no different.
The 48-year-old mother of two – known to many as Nettie – has just launched her own business, Reality Fitness.

It aims to help professional businesswomen achieve their health and fitness goals by burning fat, increasing energy levels and making them stronger.
A service Nettie believes would have been of benefit to her during the last 20 years.
She said: “Over the years, I have had my battles starting in my early 20’s when I piled on the pounds and then again in my 40’s.
“In between I flirted with health and fitness, just doing enough to keep my weight on track but not really being very fit.
“As a busy working mum, who has spent years in the corporate world, I know how difficult it is to juggle all those balls but also just how important exercise is.

“It really does help on so many levels deal with the stresses and strains of life.”
Although Nettie has been a runner for the last 11 years, it’s only been since 2015 that she’s taken her health and fitness more seriously.
She said: “Things really changed for me when, after piling on the pounds again, I decided to lose weight, get fit and stay fit.
“I had been running but only 5ks and my diet was unhealthy.
“Because I was older it took me a year to get to where I wanted but in so many ways that was the best way, as I changed my habits for good.
“I honestly don’t think I could live without running and exercising now.
“When life gets stressful and, let’s face it, it’s been very stressful over the last year, this is what clears my mind and gives me the energy and strength to face whatever it is that life has thrown at me.”
Nettie, who is married to Nick – the couple have six children between them – decided to retrain as a personal trainer after taking voluntary redundancy last July.

She previously worked in sales and training for Newsquest, publisher of the Bournemouth Daily Echo and Dorset Echo, for the last 23 years.
Nettie said: “I chose the name Reality because it’s about health and fitness that fits into a person’s life.
“All of my programmes are bespoke and designed with the individual in mind.
“It is about setting and achieving realistic goals and not some unattainable image.
“My programmes are delivered online via Zoom, or if people are local to me (Poole) then currently I can still offer 1-2-1 face to face personal training sessions outside.
“If you know that you need to do something about your health and fitness, and want someone to help you train, keep you accountable and on track, then I’m the person.
“I offer a free initial consultation to understand the goals that you wish to achieve.

“My package prices start from £150 a month for personal training.
“I also offer a pay as you go circuit training class on a Saturday morning via Zoom.
“It’s only £2 for the first class and then £4 per session afterwards.”
