New date for your diary: Bournemouth Reggae Weekender postponed until July 3 and 4, 2021

Published: May 14, 2020 | Updated: 14th May 2020

There’s disappointing news – albeit predictable – and good news.

The first-ever Bournemouth Reggae Weekender, due to take place this July, has been postponed until next year because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

But the good news is that the dates have already been set for 2021 and organisers promise it will be even bigger and bolder.

So make a note now.

It’s Saturday July 3 and Sunday July 4, 2021.

And the event, which is backed by Dorset Biz News, will be a big tribute to local NHS and frontline staff for their amazing work.

In a statement the organisers said:

It is with a heavy heart that we have reached the difficult decision to postpone Bournemouth Reggae Weekender 2020 to next year.

We were so looking forward to welcoming you to our 1st Reggae Weekender in Bournemouth this July.

Given the pandemic status of Covid-19 and the unprecedented uncertainty surrounding events we feel postponing the event to next year is the right thing to do.

Your health and wellbeing are of paramount importance and should always come first.

Though we are so sad not to be able to bring you this wonderful festival this year, we hope this difficult decision will help reduce the risk and not add any more pressure to our beloved health and emergency services such as our NHS.

We want to thank everyone for their continued support, our staff, partners, sponsors, traders, BCP council, local organisations including our cherished Bournemouth community and beyond.

What happens next?
