Prop Options is paving the way for transcontinental growth as the Poole cake stand brand launches its new distribution centre in The Netherlands.
The move will enable faster deliveries and lower shipping costs, as well as eliminating EU import and customs duties.
After all, most of Prop Options’ international customers – including cake designers, hospitality venues, wedding couples and a fast-growing demographic of baking enthusiasts – are based on the continent.
Emily Lamb, managing director, said: “For the past four years, our business has seen rapid growth.
“This expansion reflects the demand we’ve seen from our valued partners and customers in Europe.
“With our new warehousing in The Netherlands, we’re now positioned to pass on greater savings to our loyal customer base.”
Prop Options will still design and make its cake stands and separators at its Poole HQ before shipping them over to the new facility on the Dutch-German border.
It’s partnered with DPD and Deutsche Post to offer a fast-track service for delivery in as little as two days.
Emily added: “Our expansion into Europe is not just a major achievement for us as a business – it’s a leap forward in what we can provide to the European cake design and events industries.
“A huge thank you to our customers for growing with us and to the entire Prop Options team, who’ve been unwavering in their incredible efforts and hard work to bring this vision to life.
“We look forward to the next chapter of growth and innovation!”
The move caps off an already eventful year for the Prop Options team, who launched several new product lines and unveiled their mega birthday cake at Cake International – the world’s largest sugarcraft show.
It also follows the launch of Prop Options UAE in 2023, with plans already in the pipeline to expand into Australia, the US and Canada.
