A Swanage hotel which is just 100 metres from the beach has new owners.
The Castleton Hotel has been sold by Goadsby Commercial’s Hotels & Leisure division to a mother and daughter team from Surrey
The hotel, which is on a prominent corner site in Highcliffe Road, includes ten en-suite letting rooms and is 4 star gold rated.
The freehold property also has an adjoining purpose-built four bedroom house. The quoting price was £995,000.
Ian Palmer, Divisional Director, Goadsby Hotels & Leisure, said the house particularly appealed to the purchasers as they were seeking private accommodation large enough to accommodate two families.
He added: “The Castleton is a well known and successful business in Swanage and as such generated considerable interest during the marketing period.
“The purchasers were very pleased to have been able to acquire the hotel which represented a lifestyle change for both of them”.
The renamed Blue Riband Fish & Chips is trading from refitted and refurbished premises at 34-36 Victoria Road.
The prominent corner shop comprises a fish and chip shop, kitchen, wet room and a two bedroom self-contained flat.
Acting on behalf of private clients, Goadsby Commercial let the property to Nakharin Imwanit.
Mark Nurse, Associate Director, Goadsby Hotels & Leisure, said: “I am pleased that this long established fish and chip shop has reopened in the capable hands of Mr Imwanit who is an experienced catering operator.
“I have no doubt that under Nakharin’s ownership the Blue Riband fish and chip shop will once again trade successfully.”
The popular Fordingbridge tea room and café has 50 covers and seating for more than 40 people in the garden.
It is now known as The Potting Shed after undergoing extensive refurbishment and redecoration in the café, toilets and kitchen as well as a newly resurfaced car park.
