A new book provides a fascinating insight into Bournemouth with 111 suggestions on how locals – and visitors – can get to know the resort better.

Author Katherine Bebo, who wrote ‘111 Places in Poole That You Shouldn’t Miss’ – available here – has penned a companion book covering Bournemouth.

‘111 Places in Bournemouth That You Shouldn’t Miss’  includes:

  • the opportunity to swim with a whale
  • visit Batman’s old stomping ground
  • learn how a clifftop hotel changed the course of history
  • trot through the woods where a Hollywood blockbuster was filmed
  • make friends with an Egyptian mummy.

Facts contained in the book include that 750,000 ice creams are bought along Bournemouth’s seafront each year and there are 47,000 trees standing proud in the town.

Mother of two Katherine is a professional freelance writer.

Her career has taken her to London, Dubai and Denver, Colorado, before moving back home to Dorset.

She has had a handful of books published on topics ranging from films to fitness, cocktails to outer space as well as features for well-known publications and websites.

‘111 Places in Poole That You Shouldn’t Miss’ was published in 2019.

Commercial photographer Oliver Smith has provided colour images for the new 240-page paperback which is published by Emons, priced £13.99.

The popular ‘111 Places’ series was launched by Publisher Emons Verlag in 2008.

Since then, more than 650 titles in multiple languages, and 3.8 million copies, have been sold.

111 Places in Bournemouth That You Shouldn’t Miss is available from Waterstones, Amazon and all good bookshops.
