Prospective buyers express interest as coach firm goes into administration with 17 jobs lost

Joint administrators of a Poole-based coach firm have reported a healthy level of interest in both the business and its assets from prospective buyers.

Sea View Coaches (Poole) Ltd was placed in administration earlier this month.

Its 17 members of staff have been made redundant.

The family-run business was established in the mid-1960’s and specialised in leisure and corporate travel.

It operated a fleet of 18 vehicles.

All were leased with the exception of two minibuses.

The business and assets are now being marketed for sale by joint administrators, Neil Vinnicombe and Simon Haskew, Partners at Begbies Traynor.

The assets comprise a freehold property in Fancy Road, Poole, as well as the name, goodwill and customer database

The premises are set to be sold via auction in mid-June.

Mr Vinnicombe, pictured left, said: “It is always sad to see a long-established business fall into difficulties and Sea View Coaches had seen steadily declining turnover in an increasingly competitive market.

“This was coupled with rising running costs, which added greater pressure.

“Looking to the future, the Sea View Coaches brand is well known locally and would prove a valuable asset for someone to take forward.”
