A Dorset business is appealing for online votes after making it through to the final stages of one of the UK’s leading industrial awards.
Verwood-based Flux Pumps UK is a finalist in the ‘Product of the Year’ category at the 2023 Pump Industry Awards for its ViscoPower high viscosity pump.

The competition is decided by a panel of expert judges and the results of an online vote that runs until today, February 15, at 5pm.
The finalists will attend a Gala Awards evening at the Hilton at St George’s Park, Burton Upon Trent, Staffordshire on March 16.

Flux Pumps UK launched its award-nominated product in September last year.
The ‘Visco’ in ViscoPower refers to its nature as a high-viscosity pump and its ability to tackle the toughest of tasks.
It can handle anything from pastes, paints and resins to oils and food such as sauces and purees.
The engineering team at Flux had two main objectives during development of the ViscoPower: to minimise moving parts and ensure ease of dismantling and cleaning.
Success was proven on the world stage when they debuted their creation at ACHEMA 2022, the largest exhibition for process technology in the world.
Their challenge to the attendees was simple: dismantle the ViscoPower in the shortest time.
The winning effort was a mere 30.75 seconds.
Other boundary-pushing products developed by Flux over the years include the world’s first explosion-protected drum pump motor and first brushless battery motor for a pump.

Products are manufactured at the company’s dedicated factory near Stuttgart, Germany.
Flux Pumps UK has been located in Dorset since it was incorporated in 1986.
Russell Morgan, Managing Director, has been with the company for more than seven years.
The company has grown considerably during this time with revenues more than doubling.
Russell said: “We supply pumps to UK-based distributors, resellers, export houses and end users across every industry.
“The ViscoPower was selected from a huge number of entries, so we are delighted to make it through this rigorous process and be selected as a 2023 PIA Finalist.

“But we need your help to showcase this fantastic local company.
“We’d be grateful if Dorset-based businesses vote for Flux Pumps by simply heading over to Pump Industry Awards and voting for us in the Product of the Year category.”
