A popular boutique gym founded out of lockdown is to permanently relocate after forging a fitness partnership with one of Bournemouth’s top hotels.

Following an initial partnership with the Hilton Bournemouth, which began in December, R1SE has reached agreement to further develop and grow its innovative and specialist fitness services in a full-time home at the Terrace Road hotel.
As part of its new residence, a brand new arena will be built as well as a fully refurbished gym, with dedicated spaces for classes, workouts and recovery sessions.
The existing core members of R1SE Bournemouth, which was previously in The Triangle, have already transitioned across to the new location.
They’re now enjoying the same instructor base and interactive booking platform.

Jamie Whisken, pictured left, who co-founded R1SE in 2021 with hospitality and leisure entrepreneur Ty Temel and is also Captain of Poole Town FC, said: “One of the limitations we were mindful of with our previous unit was not being able to offer ‘wet’ facilities, such as a pool and jacuzzi, as well as a lack of dedicated car parking.
“These were two things about which we regularly received feedback from members and that we always knew ourselves would be an ideal addition.
“The Hilton allows us these additional options, along with many other benefits of the move.

“We are now committed to cementing R1SE as the premium player in the Bournemouth fitness market and then to move swiftly to showing how our innovative R1SE model can be applied to multiple sites.
“It is an exciting partnership and will take things to the next level entirely.
“We can’t wait to get all the facilities fully open.”
The Hilton Bournemouth opened in 2015 and was developed, and is still owned, by THAT Group, led by CEO Peter Tisdale.
The urban regeneration and development company’s other projects include the renovation of the Grade 2 listed Echo building on Richmond Hill in Bournemouth.
