Recruitment boss: "The virus/pandemic hasn’t caused economic meltdown, it’s our response"

Lloyd Banks, Owner and Managing Director, Rubicon Recruitment Group.

He freely admits it’s controversial and will ruffle some feathers but Lloyd Banks feels it needs to be said.

The Owner and Managing Director of Poole-based Rubicon Recruitment Group believes some perspective is long overdue in the current pandemic crisis.

In his opinion, panic and fear are being driven through the media which, he claims, is starved of genuine tragedies to report.

According to Lloyd, who has extensively researched the issue and amassed a welter of sourced statistics:

  • Covid-19 is probably the least deadly pandemic yet, certainly as a percentage of the population.
  • Deaths are being recorded differently across the globe and, he says, most certainly inaccurately in the UK every day.
  • Lockdown’s start was chaotic, allegedly dishonest and inappropriate.

Lloyd is now hosting a weekly webinar on the subject.

An hour long presentation is followed by 30 minutes of questions.

Billed as ‘Lloyd’s Covid-19 Weekly Webinars’ the next is today, Wednesday July 29, at 1pm, followed by Wednesday August 5 at 4pm and Wednesday August 12 at 1pm.

Lloyd said: “The virus/pandemic hasn’t caused the economic meltdown, it’s our collective response that’s to blame.

“Similarly, in my opinion, our collective fears are being driven irrationally.

“The answer, as with most things, is making informed decisions based on facts based knowledge.

“If you would like to view a presentation of several facts that aren’t generally being focused on in the media around this virus, then I urge you to view this Covid presentation.”

“I remain optimistic for the UK’s economy post pandemic.

“Despite the significant damage that’s been done to our economy, the pending worldwide recession, Brexit uncertainties… we’re a nation of innovative adaptors who often perform best when our backs are against the wall.

“These are exciting and opportunistic times for those with positive mindsets but likely to be daunting and scary to those without.”

Rubicon, which has offices in Poole and Bournemouth, has served local businesses since 1982.
