Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts, has vacancies across the organisation as it prepares for a busy autumn season.

They range from backstage and administration roles to front of house, catering and technical.

Lighthouse is holding a Recruitment Open Day on Saturday, August 21.

It will answer questions such as:

• What goes on behind the scenes at one of Britain’s biggest arts centres?
• How does everything work?
• What sort of jobs are there?
• Who does what, and where and when does it all happen?

There are two sessions, at 10am and noon.

Lighthouse staff members will be on hand to answer questions about working at one of the UK’s most significant cultural venues.

They’ll also explain more about its work that, perhaps, audiences don’t always see and do guided tours of the building, a Poole landmark for more than 40 years.

After a difficult time during the pandemic, Lighthouse has unveiled a packed programme for the autumn that includes a new concert season with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in its home venue.

Major international artists such as Rob Brydon, pictured right, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, Grayson Perry, Frank Skinner and Katherine Ryan are also appearing at the arts venue.

Lighthouse will also welcome touring companies such as Gecko, Motionhouse, Shechter II, Stuff and Nonsense, English Touring Opera and Diverse City, as well as popular entertainers including Jimmy Carr, The Bootleg Beatles, Pam Ayres and Bridget Christie.

In lockdown Lighthouse supported a range of theatre companies and emerging artists.

They will showcase new work in its venues this autumn such as SISATA, Joli Vyann, The Last Inklings and Louise Jordan, as well as partnering off-site events including Roundabout pop-up theatre festival and Inside Out Dorset festival of performances outdoors.
