Dorset locals are encouraged to sign up for the Dusk Till Dawn Harbour Hike, coming to Poole Harbour this March.

Starting from Bravery Cafe on Lagland Street, the 30-mile route will take participants across the harbour before returning to the cafe for breakfast.

The event is free to join, though any donations and profits will go towards the Nimsdai Foundation’s Project Odyssey – a programme offering mountaineering and trekking opportunities for veterans.

It’s among the many projects funded by the Nimsdai Foundation, established in 2022 by record-breaking mountaineer and veteran Nimsdai Purja.

Glen Mallen, the charity’s executive director, said: “This hike is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to enjoy the incredible environment at night while connecting with others in the community.

“We’re thrilled to deliver this event and hope it creates an awareness and donations for the work of the Nimsdai Foundation while inspiring people to explore the great outdoors.”

The Harbour Hike takes place from Saturday 15 to the morning of Sunday 16 March.

Supporting the event are local businesses and groups including Mad River Design, Elite Exped, It’s Going To Get Hairy, Clearwater, Grey’s and Powerboat Training UK – with sponsorship slots still available.
