RockReef, Bournemouth Pier’s premier indoor adventure climbing activity attraction, is celebrating its 10th birthday in style and is calling on creative kids across the UK to help make this milestone extra special.

In honour of a decade of fun and adventure, RockReef is launching the “RockReef 10th Birthday Mascot Challenge,” inviting young artists to design a brand-new mascot that will become the face of RockReef’s birthday celebrations.  The winner will receive a whole year of free Clip’n Climb at RockReef.

RockReef is an all year, all-weather attraction based on adventure sports and includes 28 Clip ’n Climb fun, themed, indoor climbing walls providing varying degrees of exciting challenges suitable for all abilities and all ages from 4-94! Other activities include a Vertical Slide drop, a Leap of Faith jump, a Highline high ropes aerial obstacle course and the Pier Cave which is a 65-linear metre indoor fun cave experience.

The Challenge: Children under 16 are encouraged to tap into their imaginations and create a unique mascot that embodies the spirit of RockReef. Whether it’s an adventurous animal, a daring climber, or a friendly sea creature, the possibilities are endless! RockReef wants to see vibrant, colourful designs filled with personality and character.

How to Enter:

  1. Imagine a Mascot: Kids should think about what makes RockReef exciting and fun. What character would they love to see representing RockReef?
  2. Draw Your Design: Participants should use plenty of colours and details to bring their mascot to life. They’re also encouraged to give their mascot a name and share a bit about its personality and what it loves most about RockReef. Entries should be sent on an A4 sized paper either digitally or through the post.
  3. Submit Your Entry: Children can ask an adult to help them submit their design by the deadline, October 16, 2024. Each entry must include the artist’s name, age, and contact information and should be emailed to MascotChallenge@rockreef.co.uk or mailed to RockReef Mascot Challenge 3 Pier Approach, Bournemouth BH2 5AA.

Fantastic Prizes Await:

  • The lucky winner will enjoy a whole year of free Clip’n Climb at RockReef.
  • The new mascot will take centre stage as the official face of RockReef’s 10th birthday celebrations and exhibition curated by AUB!

Meet the Judges: A panel of esteemed judges from RockReef, Arts University Bournemouth, Bournemouth Echo, and BCP Council will review all the creative submissions and select the winning design.

Why Enter? This is a golden opportunity for children to showcase their creativity and potentially make RockReef history. The winner’s design will not only become an iconic part of RockReef’s identity but will also be recognised by the local community and beyond and be part of the RockReef 10th anniversary party later in the year.

Get Started Now: RockReef is awaiting the next great mascot! Kids are encouraged to grab their pencils, markers, or crayons and start designing today. More details and submission instructions can be found on the official RockReef website at https://rockreef.co.uk/mascot-challenge/
