They both pride themselves on being at the heart of the community.

Now Yellow Buses and local community radio station Hot Radio – and its new sister brand Hot Gold – have partnered to deliver an innovatively designed bus.

The British-built Wright StreetLite single decker is promoting the stations across the roads of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch.

The distinctive vehicle is branded with its eye-catching logos and slogans ‘The Rhythm of the South’ for Hot Radio and ‘The Soundtrack of Your Life’ for Hot Gold.

David Squire, Managing Director, Yellow Buses, said: “We are delighted to support Hot Radio and Hot Gold with this tie up between Yellow Buses, the locally owned and locally operated bus company, and the area’s local community radio station.

“We are sponsoring the Hot’s On guide and we have our commercial bus rap playing on the station, plus we will be running competitions and partnering outside events.”

Kevin Scott, Director, Hot Radio, said Yellow Buses “shares a community focused attitude mirroring the one we have at Hot”.

He added: “These two brands working together with dual marketing makes total sense and means we can reach more of the community.

“I believe we can actively support each other, and our wider community, long into the future as we both endeavour to make the BCP conurbation better for all.”

Based in Poole, Hot Radio broadcasts to the BCP conurbation on FM and on DAB digital radio across the whole of Dorset, Hampshire and the south coast.

It is run by 81 volunteers and is a not for profit organisation.

Kevin said: “Hot Radio is all about the music.

“Our main playlist is positive and upbeat rhythmic music from the 90s to today’s current chart hits and comprises of the best in dance, soul and RnB.

“We also broadcast a number of specialist music programmes in the evenings and weekends by established local and well known international DJ’s, specialising in playing house, garage, funk, soul, rock, reggae and more.

“We started Hot Gold as there was a massive need for a local station that plays positive music from the 70s, 80s and 90s so we created the second station.

“Hot Gold plays music from 1971 to 1995 and Hot Radio from 1996 to today’s latest music.

“It’s already shown to be three quarters as popular online as Hot Radio which we have built over the past three and a half years.”
