Savvy Navvy – dubbed ‘Google Maps for boats’ – has been recognised for its innovative retailer programme, which sees the Bournemouth business reaching out to distributors across the world.
The team picked up the prestigious Neptune Award for Best New Product Launch during the Marine Marketers of America (MMA) ceremony held this week at Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show.
Subscriptions for Savvy Navvy’s navigation services are sold via physical scratchcards, bridging the gap between traditional marine retail and modern digital innovation.
“Savvy Navvy continues to be on a mission to make boating more accessible and safe for everyone,” said Alex Ostler, chief marketing officer.
“By combining a physical retail model with state-of-the-art digital navigation, we have expanded our global reach and empowered dealers to connect with new audiences and made boating more accessible.
“Since launching, we have distributors in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, USA, the Netherlands and Finland.
“This programme continues to grow and is just the beginning of how Savvy Navvy is transforming the boating experience worldwide.
“We’re thrilled for our efforts to be recognised by the industry with this prestigious award.”
Awards were presented across 22 categories and judged by a committee of 80 marine leaders.
Savvy Navvy’s influencer campaign, run last year by VizSense, also won Best Marketing Collaboration, and the brand came runner up in the Best Social Media Campaign category.
The wins came the same week as Savvy Navvy launched its partnership with Avikus, HD Hyundai’s autonomous navigation technology developer.
