Significant interest from developers is expected in a prominent site opposite the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) which has come to market.
The Exeter Road site has lain undeveloped since 2015 after demolition of the former Punshon Church.
It has full planning consent for 85 apartments and two commercial units.
Located close to the seafront, there is an opportunity for the purchaser to redesign the consented scheme.
Existing planning permission for the site, which was granted in June 2020, allows for a building ranging in height between one and seven storeys.
It includes two ground floor commercial units with 85 apartments and lower ground floor parking for 66 spaces, as well as associated bin and cycle stores.
While no deadline for unconditional or ‘subject to planning’ offers has been set, it is believed that a sale is being targeted over the next couple of months and significant interest is expected.
Luke Tubbs, pictured left, a chartered surveyor in Savills South Coast Development team, which is handling the sale, said: “The availability of this historic former church site presents a unique development opportunity which can have a lasting, positive impact on the Bournemouth landscape.
“With excellent connectivity to surrounding areas and in such close proximity to the seafront, we are anticipating a substantial level of interest in this site.”
Viewing of the site is strictly by appointment.
It can be arranged via Savills Southampton on 023 8071 3900.
