Filing your taxes needn’t be taxing – thanks to two Bournemouth University graduates and their expanding business.
James Green, 27, and Eamon Shahir, also 27, together with a third business partner Arjun Kumar, 26, launched @Taxd in October 2021.
The trio started the business in the hopes of simplifying and reducing the cost of the tax filing process using their industry knowledge and passion for technology.
The easy-to-use and conversational tax filing tool supports individuals in any situation to file their taxes confidently and competently.
@Taxd also provides access to human experts, if needed, and says the final bill represents a fraction of the typical accountant costs.
Just over two years after it started and the company has a growing team and client base, which has now entered international borders.
The team is made up of ten part-time and full-time employees and a Bournemouth-based apprentice.
The business has assisted nearly 2,000 clients, from freelancers and large businesses to UK expats.
Eamon, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, said: “Witnessing countless businesses stress over the tax filing process, and worrying about a complication that may arise, we knew that with our expertise and experience, we had the opportunity to make the entire process far easier and virtually stress-free.
“Bournemouth University gave me skills that have been critical to running a successful business.
“I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to attend a leading university.”
James, Chief Technology Officer, said: “Simplifying the entire tax process is a must for our team.
“It is something that we pride ourselves on for being able to support our clients with a rather complex process.
“Over the past two years, we have seen hundreds of clients come to us for support and leave with certainty and confidence in their tax filing situation.”
@Taxd says one of the company’s standout features is its commitment to simplifying the often complex process of tax filing.
It regularly releases informative and insightful blogs offering valuable advice to businesses seeking to navigate the intricacies of tax compliance and filing.
Building on the success of its current offerings, tax filing sole traders, the three entrepreneurs are looking into developing their services further,
They will soon include company taxes, partnership taxes, VAT and accountant software.
Arjun, who co-founded @Taxd with Eamon and is also Co-CEO, said: “What we have been able to achieve in the space of two years is amazing, and unexpected!
“When developing the idea, I always knew that we were entering a niche market that was destined for success.
“To be in the position we are in today, is a great achievement that would not be possible without our fantastic team.”
