A new indoor Terrace Café has been opened at the Sir David English Sports Centre in Bournemouth, located on East Way. The café is accessible to the entire community, including families, local residents, sports clubs, and BH Live Active members.

The café offers self-service vending options for hot and cold drinks and snacks throughout the week. On weekends and during school holidays, the menu expands to include items such as paninis, pizzas, teas, coffees, and slush puppies. Free WiFi is also available.

The Sir David English Sports Centre provides various facilities, including a multi-purpose sports hall, gym, and a studio for group exercise classes. The centre also works with local sports clubs and schools, offering spaces such as 3G rubber crumb pitches, netball courts, and tennis courts.

BH Live, a registered charity and social enterprise, operates the centre in partnership with Bournemouth School Charitable Trust. The organisation has invested £100,000 in the café.

Rob Cunningham, Director of Leisure and Business Development at BH Live, stated: “Sir David English is a popular centre for all with lots of great facilities and activities.

“Visitors come to the centre every day to attend matches and classes, train at the gym, play on pitches, use the sports hall, and host children’s parties. We felt there was a need to create a space where visitors could sit down and socialise while enjoying something to eat and drink.”

Cunningham also noted the positive response from customers and expressed gratitude to those who supported the project.

The café is open Monday to Thursday from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm, Fridays from 6:30 am to 9:00 pm, and weekends from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. On Bank Holidays, it operates from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Other Terrace Cafés are located at BH Live Active Littledown, Pelhams, and Corfe Mullen.
