A new event staged by Bournemouth Chamber of Trade & Commerce (BCTC) proved a rip-roaring success.

BH Meet Up focused on the film production industry and was held at the Ocean Beach Hotel & Spa in Bournemouth.

A packed room of guests enjoyed drinks and canapes, followed by an introduction from sponsors, Lynn and David Coleman of DAL Productions Ltd.

Lynn said: “We wanted to give Chamber members a really good insight into the breadth of local activity in film, TV and media.

“We asked five people to come and speak for five minutes each and finished with an award winning short film”

David added: “We’re really grateful for the people who ‘volunteered’ to come and speak.

“Our thanks go to Dan Pringle of White Lantern Films, Leila Willingham of Digipigz/Liz Lean PR, Kelly Butler of Podcast Labs, Gillian Tully of Dorset Film Office and Cameron Dupuy and Hugo Esposito, who are in their final year at Bournemouth University Film School.”

Mandy Polkey, Past President of BCTC, welcomed the attending BCTC Directors, including Roger Smith, President.

She highlighted the diverse range of talent within the executive team, all of whom give their time freely in support of Bournemouth Chamber.

“The Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce has a simple aim – to help local businesses like yours grow and thrive,” said Mandy.

“We achieve this by providing networking opportunities, as well as the very latest business information, training and development. We’re also your voice – ensuring that, together, we’re stronger.”

BCTC’s BH Meet Up Events are free to BCTC Members and £10 to non-members, which includes a drink and canapes on arrival.

A member business from the hospitality, digital, entertainment and creative industries will be showcased every month.
