Dorset success story Mr Lee’s Pure Foods – now stocked in more than 1,000 stores across America – has launched a new range in the UK.

The award-winning company behind Mr Lee’s Noodles has introduced Mr Lee’s Ramen Noodles.

It’s the third product launch since Damien Lee, pictured right, the inspirational entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Mr Lee’s, passed away in January 2021 after a six-year battle against cancer.

The new savoury instant wheat noodle comes in a range of three flavours: a vegan Golden Veggie Curry, Kicking Korean Beef broth, and Krazy about Katsu, a chicken Katsu curry broth.

Ready in just four minutes after adding hot water, the three different varieties of ramen noodle are made with authentic Asian-style flavours, 100 per cent real chunks of meats and real veggies.

They contain all natural ingredients, are low in sugar and saturated fats, and have absolutely no nasties, say Mr Lee’s.

Andy Chu, Executive Chef at Mr Lee’s Pure Foods, pictured left, said Ramen was a traditional noodle dish that’s been popular since the 1600s and had been a firm favourite of Damien.

He added: “Ramen is a staple in Asian cuisine, it’s been a popular street food in Japan since the 1950s and such an important addition to the Mr Lee’s range.

“Damien and I worked on these Ramen recipes together making sure we have that all-important authentic heritage while still being a quick and healthy way to eat a snack or meal that packs a punch flavour-wise.

“That’s why we went with these three flavours, the vegan-friendly Golden Veggie Curry has a really warm and well-rounded taste while still being protein rich.

“The Kicking Korean Beef does exactly that, it kicks!

“If you love spice, you’ll love this one, and as a broth it automatically has that restorative quality while kick-firing you back into action.

“And we just had to include a katsu, it’s such a special and unique flavour, and there are so many of us (me included) who really are Krazy about Katsu!”

The new range comes in at under 267 kcal per cup and is available in boxes of six from the Mr Lee’s website at mrleesnoodles.com/uk/shop/noodles, priced £12 per box.

They are also coming soon on Amazon.

Mr Lee’s 13-strong team is mainly based at the company’s new HQ offices in Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth.

In the USA its products are stocked in Whole Foods Market, known for its ban on all artificial colours, flavours, and preservatives, and Harris Teeter.

The three new ranges – three instant porridge flavours, two congee savoury rice porridge flavours and now three ramen flavours – have led to a surge of interest in the UK.

Its products are currently available on Ocado, Amazon and its website.

The company, founded with a mission to create market-disruptive on-the-go foods and give consumers healthy alternatives to junk, convenient products, has won over 50 awards and accolades since 2016.

  • Mr Lee’s is happy to partner up with businesses interested in providing regular, or ad hoc, food options to their staff. Discounts are available for local businesses. Owners interested in treating their teams should email [email protected]
