New face at Trethowans Melia Hirst joins as partner from another leading Dorset law firm

Melia Hirst joins Trethowans Solicitors after seven years at Lester Aldridge and will be based in the firm’s Bournemouth office.

Melia advises on insolvency and restructuring matters and acts for insolvency practitioners, banks and financiers, as well as directors of insolvent companies. She also handles solvent liquidations and group reorganisations.

Additionally, Melia has significant experience in sales and purchases of distressed businesses. She also advises landlords, suppliers and others contracting with an entity that becomes insolvent.

Trethowans Managing Partner Mike Watson advised, “We are delighted to be announcing our new Partners. We are pleased to recognise the talent that we have within the business by promoting Mariana and Louise and welcoming Melia who will boost our restructuring and insolvency offering. The appointments will support our ongoing growth in the region as our reputation continues to grow.”

Mariana Crawford and Louise Thompson have also been promoted from Senior Associates to Partners, and will be based in Trethowans’ Salisbury and Southampton offices respectively.

All three new Partners will service work across the business’ five offices in the region, including Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the sectors that they work in.

Trethowans has offices in Southampton, Salisbury, Poole, Bournemouth and Winchester. With a team of around 250 people, it works for major commercial clients such as Jewson, Pizza Hut, Nando’s, and Britvic plc.
