“We had to help” says Dorset housebuilder as they hand £1.5k cheque to disability equality charity

David Wilson Homes has donated £1,500 from its Community Fund to national charity Scope, supporting their work championing equality for disabled people.

David Wilson Homes logoThe two connected as Scope runs a charity shop in the town of Gillingham, just down the road from the housebuilder’s Romans Quarter development.

Day-to-day, they provide practical advice and emotional support to the UK’s disabled population, whether that be through their helpline, website, employment and child sleep services, or community engagement programmes.

Nicky DhillonNicky Dhillon, Partnerships Account Executive at Scope, said: “We rely on donations from organisations and the public, and I’d like to offer our thanks to David Wilson Homes.

“This generous donation will support our vital work with disabled people.

“During the cost-of-living crisis, our free and confidential helpline is needed now more than ever.

“We also work tirelessly to ensure disabled people can get into and progress in work, and that they get the support needed to live and thrive in their local communities.

“There’s so much to do.”

Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ Community Fund was set up to support local causes like Scope which help to improve people’s quality of life.

“No one should ever feel inferior because of who they are, and I’m thrilled to be able to hand over this donation.”
