Frettens’ expanding commercial department has welcomed back a familiar face.

Associate Sarah Sillar has returned to the law firm, which has offices in Christchurch and Ringwood, after a short career break.

The experienced corporate & commercial solicitor specialises in intellectual property (IP) law.

She works with businesses to help identify and protect their intellectual property.

Sarah said: “This is an exciting time to be re-joining Frettens as they continue to expand their operations.

“Frettens is a great employer to work for and I am looking forward to being a part of their growing success.

“I received such a warm welcome on my return and while there are a lot of new faces, the place still feels the same – it’s like I never left.”

Matt Fretten, Managing Partner, pictured left, said: “We couldn’t be more pleased to welcome back Sarah to the corporate and commercial team.

“Her experience and skills, together with her expertise in IP matters, will be invaluable to our clients as we continue to grow and expand the team.

“Great news!”

Sarah will work alongside Matt, as well as Karen Edwards, Wayne Spolander and Olivia Parkinson in the firm’s corporate and commercial team.

She will also work closely with Frettens’ growing commercial property, dispute, employment and insolvency teams.

Sarah is the tenth new face to join Frettens since January in what is proving to be one of the most significant years in the firm’s history.

2021 started with the acquisition of an additional office in Ringwood, which has since been refitted and opened, while its new website was launched at the start of this month.

Frettens is currently advertising for six other positions, but is interested in talking to any bright legal professionals who want to work for the firm.

  • Anyone interested in finding out more information about joining Frettens should contact Cat Snow, Operations Manager.
