One of the world’s most famous and revered motorcycle brands is coming to Dorset.

In a significant investment, Breeze Motor Group is to team up with Ducati UK to open a brand-new destination store.

Ducati Bournemouth will be located in a 7,000 sq ft building which is currently under construction at Bedrock Park on the Ferndown Industrial Estate.

It will provide the full range of new Ducati motorcycles and Scrambler motorcycles as well as pre-owned sales, official apparel, parts and accessories and a state-of-the-art workshop.

Ten new jobs will be created including specialist motorcycle technicians, sales executives and service advisors.

The store is scheduled to open in the autumn of this year.

It’s Breeze Motor Group’s first two-wheel venture with the total investment expected to be around the £350,000 mark.

Mark Langford, Managing Director, said Breeze was “incredibly proud and excited” to be bringing the Italian marque’s motorcycles to Dorset.

A keen motorcyclist himself, and also owner of several Ducati motorcycles over the years, he said the brand would be a “perfect fit” for the area.

Mark said: “Ducati is just about as premium as you can get and is regarded as a ‘two-wheel Ferrari’.

“It is an iconic brand with a fantastic heritage and a fiercely loyal following.

“We plan for this to be a flagship store with lots of display space as well as all the other facilities you’d expect, including a café serving the best Italian coffee and a range of light snacks.”

Once opened Ducati Bournemouth will also host showroom events and a calendar of ride outs with routes designed to make the most of the surrounding Dorset scenery.

Mark said: “Our well-positioned, easily accessible dealership will offer an exceptional level of service to all customers and a great opportunity to enjoy the fantastic rides we have on our doorstep.

“Ducati is my brand of choice but, of course, the business case had to be established. I couldn’t let my passion get in the way.

“This is a really exciting project and we’ll ensure every angle of the brand is covered.

“It will be a destination store attracting lovers of these beautiful objects from a wide area.”

Ducati Bournemouth is the second major investment by Breeze Motor Group this year.

In February, it launched Breeze Suzuki, pictured, after spending around £600,000 on a complete refurbishment of the former Jaguar showroom and workshop in West Quay Road, Poole.

Nine new jobs were created with the opening.

Owned by John Corderoy, Breeze Motor Group opened its first Volkswagen dealership in Poole in 2000.

That was followed by Volkswagen commercial vehicle van centres in Poole, Southampton and Portsmouth; Coastal Car Sales (used car retailer) in Poole; TPS Bournemouth (specialist trade parts franchise) in Poole and, this year, Breeze Suzuki.

The group now employs 220 people and has an annual turnover of £110 million.

Headquartered near Bologna, Italy, Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A., finished 2021 with a new record, delivering 59,447 motorcycles to customers all over the world, an increase in sales of 24 per cent over the previous year.

Its most important markets are Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific.

The Ducati sales network now comprises 790 dealers and 14 subsidiaries.
