Saffery is set to host a finance directors seminar at the Vitality Stadium next Thursday morning, 23 January.
Hosted by corporate tax adviser Richard Meller and partners Jamie Lane, Casidhe Baleri and Hannah Mazrae, the seminar will address key issues currently faced by finance directors, including…
Financial Reporting
The session will cover UK GAAP, including recent amendments to FRS 102, IFRS updates (such as IFRS 18 and IFRS 19) and legislative changes impacting public interest entities (PIEs). Key topics include the Transparency Act and audit and corporate governance reforms.
Employment Taxes
Topics will include global expansion issues such as displaced workers, hybrid working arrangements, UK in/outbound secondments and the implications of local hires.
Corporate Taxes
This section will address international tax matters such as transfer pricing, company residency and permanent establishment risk. The discussion will also focus on innovation incentives, including capital allowances and R&D tax credits, as well as the impact of Business Property Relief (BPR) changes for businesses.
VAT and Indirect Tax
The VAT session will offer a case law update, as well as insights into the role of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors in indirect tax. There will also be a focus on how data analytics is shaping the VAT landscape.
Event Schedule
The technical content will last around two hours, and attendees will be provided with proof of attendance at the end of the seminar.
Certificates are available to those wishing to use this session towards their annual continuing professional development (CPD).
Jamie said: “The seminar will cover a range of pressing issues, providing an in-depth understanding of how these challenges are affecting finance directors.
“We’re expecting an excellent turnout, with interest being shown from finance directors across Dorset from a wide range of sectors.
“While it’s not essential to be an existing client of Saffery, we strongly encourage anyone interested in attending to register early.
“We look forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces.”
