Having started out as Poole Power Boats in 1969, luxury yachtmaker Sunseeker has enjoyed an illustrious 55-year history on Dorset’s south coast.
And that’s where it’s set to stay, according to a recent statement put out by the brand’s new international owners.
Luxembourg’s FARO Alternative Investments and Miami-based investors Lionheart Capital confirmed last week their acquisition of Sunseeker from Chinese real estate group Wanda, which took a majority stake in the yachtmaker back in 2013.
FARO and Lionheart have made the same promise now as Wanda did a decade ago – that Sunseeker’s staff, production and infrastructure will remain firmly in Poole.
“We’re thrilled to start this new journey,” said Giarncarlo Galeone, chair of FARO and now also chair of Sunseeker.
“Our strong expertise in the yachting industry combined with our long-lasting relationship with its CEO (Italy’s Andrea Frabetti) will allow us to further enhance the British identity and craftsmanship, driving the brand towards ambitious goals.
“We can expect a substantial investment into the development of new core and niche models, supporting the worldwide presence of the brand.”
Andrea added: “We’re confident that, under the new leadership, Sunseeker will thrive and reach new heights.
“Our goal remains to deliver exceptional yachts that embody luxury, performance and innovation, while honouring the legacy and vision of our founders.”
