Bobby’s Bournemouth is set to welcome The Botanist, a renowned bar and restaurant, to its newly renovated space. As part of an ongoing transformation, Bobby’s has undergone significant updates, including the reconstruction of its 4th-floor roof, making way for The Botanist’s arrival later this year.
The Botanist, known for its lush botanical-themed interiors and lively atmosphere, will occupy 1,285 sqm, offering a fresh experience for both locals and visitors. The new space will feature a restored sun terrace, once home to the iconic Bobby’s tea rooms. With stunning views over Bournemouth Square and nearby gardens, this outdoor space is set to be a standout attraction.
Rod McKie, non-executive chairman of New World Trading Company, the group behind The Botanist, expressed excitement for the expansion: “We have an attractive pipeline of new larger-format Botanist sites, with Bournemouth and Lichfield expected to open in 2025.”
The upcoming venue at Bobby’s is part of a wider plan to revitalise the historic building, which has been evolving into a multi-use destination. Andy Birt, Director of Bobby’s, shared his enthusiasm: “We look forward to The Botanist’s arrival and their transformation of our 4th floor, which will not only be spectacular but will bring a whole new dimension to the offering here at Bobby’s.”
The Botanist will bring its signature cocktails and innovative dining to Bournemouth’s heart, marking a key milestone in Bobby’s journey to becoming a hub for shopping, dining, and culture.
