The marketing agency that delivers: Fireworx helps parcel shop network with 11.7% growth

By Andrew Diprose, editor

A top marketing agency – described as “a breath of fresh air” – well and truly delivered for the UK’s largest parcel shop network.

Bournemouth-based Fireworx helped Collect+ increase overall parcel volumes by 11.3 per cent in November and December thanks to the success of a Christmas campaign.

More than 6.5 million packages were processed.

Collect+ started working with Fireworx last year.

The agency was hired for its creative and digital marketing expertise with a brief to further expand the visibility and growth of Collect+.

The national Christmas campaign created by the Fireworx team was deployed both out of home, through billboards, and digitally via social media platforms.

Focusing on a message of ‘You Wrap, We Send’ the campaign used simplistic yet emotive imagery of identifiable gifts, bursting out of boxes, in festive wrapping paper, along with a theme of the trusted alternative for Santa Claus to use.

Dan Smith, Fireworx Managing Director, pictured left, said: “As an agency that’s focused on results this is testament to the way we are changing the landscape for clients who are looking for an agency that deliver on their promises.

“As a challenger agency, we pride ourselves on our ability to think disruptively and differently to help our clients solve and overcome any hurdles.

“We thrive on working with brands that are happy to be pushed out of their comfort zone and go against industry conventions to stand out from the crowd, engage more customers and drive more sales.”

Chandni Chandarana, Marketing Manager at PayPoint which owns Collect+, said: “I’ve always had confidence in the Fireworx team to deliver outstanding creative concepts.

“Along with their strong digital offering they’re a breath of fresh air to deal with.

“They are always willing to help, go the extra mile and give constructive advice along the way.

“I look forward to working with them for years to come.”

Collect+ is a national network of locations made up of 10,000 newsagents, convenience stores, supermarkets and petrol stations.

It provides users with a simple and convenient parcel collection and sending service.

The company is also partnered with leading couriers Amazon, DHL, DPD, eBay, FedEx, HubBox, Parcel2GO and Yodel.

Nick Williams, Head of Strategic Parcels Partnerships, PayPoint plc, said: “Our Collect+ service continues to go from strength to strength and I’m incredibly grateful to all of our 10,000 retailer partners in helping us deliver our best-ever Christmas.

“As online shopping continues to grow and consumer behaviour evolves post-Covid, we’re committed to continuing to enhance our service to help our retailer partners respond to these trends and deliver vital community services across the UK.

“2022 will be even bigger again, with more developments, more parcels and more opportunities for retailers to benefit from partnering with Collect+ in their stores.”

Dan Smith formed what has been called ‘maverick’ agency Fireworx in 2007, a growth agency working for challenger brands.

Helping them use ‘disruptive thinking’ the team helps shape a more compelling competitive advantage, transforming brands and driving results, through the use of marketing strategy, eye-catching creativity and digital transformation.
