A social media agency which – in the words of its founder – hides away behind the scenes has found itself in the spotlight after winning two awards in close succession.

SociActive won the Best Branding & Social Media Agency 2020 category for the South of England in the Corporate Vision Media Innovation Awards.

Then just weeks later it landed the award for Best in Branding, UK & Europe, in the 2020 UK Prestige Awards.

In both cases the Wareham-based agency was nominated by clients.

Yasmin Valentine, who founded the agency in 2017, said: “I’m just shocked, over the moon and very grateful for the support and encouragement of our clients.

“We don’t tend to court visibility as we have been purely a referral-based business.

“I really hope that this offers some inspiration, or light, to businesses who are going through the struggles and the difficulty of what has been happening around us.

“This just goes to show that small businesses from many different industries can continue to put Dorset on the map.”

Yasmin, 38, launched SociActive in 2017 in a bid to fill what she describes as the ‘business branding gap’.

It now has a team of seven with clients across the globe including Germany, America, Asia and New Zealand.

Yasmin said: “Traditionally we’ve not had a huge involvement with Dorset businesses but I have a passion for our county.

“We are happy to offer special rates for Dorset businesses.

“Our plans include launching a small business programme and provide more affordable support to micro businesses.

“SociActive love helping businesses shine and have an appetite to push companies further.

“People do not buy goods and services. They buy stories and magic and that is what our team can provide with passion, professionalism and great zeal.”
