A telecom company which designs and engineers wired and wireless headsets has pre-sold tens of thousands of a new webcam product to existing clients prior to its official launch in August.
Customers throughout the UK, Europe and USA will be able to acquire the JPL Vision+ compact USB webcam.
It has been developed for the new working environment which includes social distancing and Covid-19 best practice.
The webcam features two duplexed, stereo microphones for hands-free speech and a 96 degree viewing angle which allows more than one person in shot at the same time, adhering to safe distance between working colleagues.
The Vision+, pictured left, has a hinged bracket allowing the webcam to be placed above a computer for long distance face-to-face meetings.
From its headquarters in Sturminster Newton, JPL Telecom has become a global innovator in the design and engineering of wired and wireless professional headsets as well as related USB/specialist phone cords for contact centres and unified communications.
The company develops and produces industry firsts in sustainable and future-proof wearable technology.
Webcams and speakerphones are the latest to join the fast-growing and innovative range.
James Clarke, CEO, said: “Vision and voice video solutions are at the heart of our new range and, in the current situation, much sought after.
“The switch to home working has led to exponential demand.
“The webcams can be desk-mounted or placed above a PC monitor.
“They feature a two million pixel range sensor, 1080p HD at 30 frames per second for high resolution clarity.
“Noise suppression and echo cancellation are standard.”
JPL’s worldwide customers include the NHS, call centres, the service sector, hard of hearing and businesses which are investing in new products or modernising existing areas of technical infrastructure.
This year has seen dramatic growth in worldwide exports as brand recognition and confidence in JPL products has increased.
Exports to the USA have grown five-fold and it is predicted to become JPL’s largest sales territory.
In addition, JPL has also been successfully received in emerging markets such as Eastern Europe, Russia and South Africa where sales have risen steadily.
James said: “At a time when working environments are constrained by social distancing, we are boosting the UK economy through new product investment, supplying new and established sectors, exporting worldwide and growing a quality reseller base.”
