Three businesses on Bournemouth’s West Cliff have been sold by specialist hotel agent Goadsby Commercial for a combined figure approaching £3m.

They are:

  • The 51 bedroom Bourne Hall Hotel, in Priory Road and prominently positioned above the Bournemouth International Centre, which has been sold on behalf of an overseas client.
  • The Topaz Hotel, pictured right, in St Michael’s Road, has been purchased to be remodelled into contemporary holiday apartments by a local development company.
  • The Croydon Hotel, pictured below, also in St Michael’s Road, was acquired as an executive let by a London based investor.

Ian Palmer, Divisional Director, said: “Over time the hotel stock in Bournemouth has become increasingly focused into the town centre, for which each of these properties is ideally placed.

“This is very much reflected in the sales we are continuing to transact.

“Even though a cloud of uncertainty currently hangs heavy over the industry, confidence in the short to medium term remains strong.

“It is, in fact, a shortage of available property that is the bigger issue rather than a shortage of willing purchasers.”

Goadsby, on behalf of a private client, has let the first floor offices at Hamilton Court House, 1-3 Alum Chine Road, Westbourne, to Strategic Solutions Financial Services.

The first floor office accommodation is approximately 2,528 sq ft and has eight parking spaces and fibre internet access.

The quoting rent was £35,000 per annum exclusive.

Bryony Solan, Manager, Business Space, said: “Strategic Solutions were particularly attracted to having amenities close by, such as coffee shops, banks and restaurants, in addition to the excellent car parking provision.”
