He’d like to share a car with Robin Williams, says his childhood hero was David Bowie, gets angry at bullying in any form, and would choose crème brûlée any day over sponge pudding or melon!
Paul Kinvig, Chief Operating Officer, Bournemouth Town Centre BID, takes the ‘hot seat’ for our popular 20 Questions.
Question: What is your favourite TV show?
Answer: Currently Taskmaster but right up there is Sherlock.
Q: Who would you like to share a car with?
A: Robin Williams – incredibly intelligent comedic genius.
Q: The best bit of my job is…?
A: The absolute variety, on a daily basis, of the people and projects I’m lucky enough to be involved with.
Q: And the worst?
A: Dealing with the consequences of situations outside of your control or responsibility.
Q: Who was your childhood hero?
A: David Bowie.
Q: What’s your favourite smell?
A: Vanilla and Cinnamon.
Q: Where’s your favourite place in Dorset?
A: Its ridiculously good beaches.
Q: What advice would you give to anyone starting out on a career?
A: Find something you love to do rather than something you tolerate doing.
Q: What was your first record/CD?
A: Single – ‘The Jean Genie’ by David Bowie. Album – ‘Sheer Heart Attack’ by Queen.
Q: What gets you angry?
A: Bullying in any form.
Q: Do you have a favourite piece of music?
A: Too many to mention but the one that set the tone for me was ‘Seven Seas of Rhye’ by Queen.
Q: What are the qualities you look for in a new employee?
A: Passion, a willingness to learn and wanting ‘THE’ job not just ‘A’ job.
Q: What’s your favourite food or dish?
A: Anything involving seafood from any continent, especially seabass & shellfish.
Q: Steamed sponge pudding and custard or a plate of melon?
A: Neither – gimme crème brûlée any day!
Q: Name the best thing about living/working in Dorset?
A: The coastal AND rural environment that we benefit from. A truly wonderful place to live.
Q: If you were Prime Minister for the day what would be the first thing you do?
A: Ban Rosé wine 😉!
Q: What’s your biggest frustration?
A: My golf handicap and not being able to play guitar as well as Steve Lukather.
Q: Where’s your favourite holiday location?
A: Rome. The cuisine, art, culture, fashion, cars, wine, architecture, history and chaos all rolled into one glorious mix.
Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?
A: Spending inordinate amounts of time with my grandson.
Q: What would you like to be remembered for?
A: In some small way making a positive difference to the lives of those I connected with.
