She gets angry at being placed on hold during a phone call, chooses her Mum as her childhood hero (and wishes she had her cooking skills) and would like to share a car with Bradley Walsh.

Elaine Wilkins, Business Development Manager, Antony Batty’s Bournemouth office, takes the 20 Questions’ hot seat.

Question: What is your favourite TV show?

Answer: Any detective series.

Q: Who would you like to share a car with?

A: Bradley Walsh.

Q: The best bit of my job is…?

A: Helping people to sleep at night by finding a solution to their financial situation.

Q: And the worst?

A: Probably any paperwork that needs filling in!

Q: Who was your childhood hero?

A: My Mum. I wish my cooking skills were up to her standards.

Q: What’s your favourite smell?

A: Weirdly, petrol when filling up on the forecourt.

Q: Where’s your favourite place in Dorset?

A: It has to be at my beach hut in Friars Cliff, near Highcliffe, with a view of the Needles.

Q: What advice would you give to anyone starting out on a career?

A: Build a network of contacts (your own ‘mafia’) that you can depend on and who will grow with you as your career develops.

Q: What was your first record/CD?

A: George Benson – ‘In Your Eyes’. I’m a true soul girl!

Q: What gets you angry?

A: Being placed on hold…

Q: Do you have a favourite piece of music?

A: Anything disco from the 1970s.

Q: What are the qualities you look for in a new employee?

A: Knowing the importance of great customer service.

Q: What’s your favourite food or dish?

A: Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.

Q: Steamed sponge pudding and custard or a plate of melon?

A: 100 per cent sponge pudding!

Q: Name the best thing about living/working in Dorset?

A: The coastline. Not sure I could ever live far from it.

Q: If you were Prime Minister for the day what would be the first thing you do?

A: Reduce the retirement age to 60 for everyone.

Q: What’s your biggest frustration?

A: Not being able to solve every problem.

Q:  Where’s your favourite holiday location?

A: Maybe I haven’t been there yet? I love too many destinations to have a favourite.

Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?

A: Hopefully still travelling and seeing more of this big wide world.

Q: What would you like to be remembered for?

A: Always doing my best, making the most of every minute of our time on this planet and probably for trying too hard!
