Beth Gregory: "If you’re not showing up as the face of your brand, you’re really missing out."

“You are your brand.”
So says Beth Gregory, a Personal Branding Photographer.

The 24-year-old has made it her mission to empower female-led brands in the creative and wellness sectors to, in her words, “shine with creativity, clarity and confidence.”
Because, as Beth points out, in a saturated market the way to stand out is for you to be your own superpower.
She said: “Personal branding photography is a collection of professional and targeted brand photographs for business owners.
“Your personal brand images help to visually show exactly who you are, what you do, where you are, and why people need to buy from you.

“Photography for your business is hugely important.
“It often creates your first impression, sets the scene for your business, portrays your personality, and allows you to build connection and trust.
“Whether you have a product or service-based business, you are the brand.
“You created this business based on what you love doing and what you value.
“If you’re not showing up as the face of your brand, you’re really missing out.
“In a world saturated by businesses the only thing that makes yours totally and entirely unique, is you.
“So use that to your advantage.”

Beth said it may feel strange and daunting at first to be photographed, particularly if you’re not used to being in front of the camera.
But, she added: “The more you do it, the more comfortable you will feel, especially if your photographer is welcoming and relaxed; they will guide you through.
“I have a process with every client that consists of planning, designing mood boards, creating shot lists, outfit plans and much more, before the shoot even starts.
“It’s a really creative and fun process.
“You will be fully prepared and really get the most out of your brand shoot.
“If you have worked with, and built a relationship with your photographer before the shoot, you are bound to feel more relaxed with them.
“When you do step in front of the camera, you will see the results.

“Why? Because when customers or clients can see you, relate to you and connect to you, they are more likely to buy from you.
“We are nosey and want to know who is behind the business.
“If you naturally connect to someone, you are more likely to stay and browse or be intrigued.
“Photography is often your first impression so make it count.”
Beth, who lives in Dorchester, launched her business FolioCreativeCo in 2020.
She decided to go it alone after struggling to find employment in the creative industry following university.
Beth said: “If you are feeling like both you and your business need a boost, personal branding photography could well be your answer.
“I am well aware that a lot of women in business are strongly working around other commitments, whether that be hobbies, children or just life in general.
“I want to be flexible with you and your reality, and fit into your structure.
“You can grab snacks at any point, talk to me about life, or have your little one there.

“Having a brand shoot is very much about working together to create your vision.
“It’s simply supporting you and your dreams in a creative and visual way.
“When is a good time to get in touch with a brand photographer?
“It can be at any point in your business journey but key times could be if you:
“In 2023 and beyond, I am empowering you to well and truly shine, as you show up as the face of your brand.”
