Each week we shine the spotlight on a prominent person in Dorset and ask him, or her, for answers to our part fun/part serious questionnaire. This time…

She looks for a positive attitude and the will to get things done in a new employee, would like to share a car with Ricky Gervais or Michelle Obama, gets angry at people not being nice to animals, and chooses Hengistbury Head for a nice dog walk as her favourite place in Dorset.

Toni Taylor, Managing Director, Tru Talent, takes the ‘hot seat’ for our popular 20 Questions.

Question: What is your favourite TV show?

Answer: After Life – such a well written show, very heart-warming but also hilarious!

Q: Who would you like to share a car with?

A: Ricky Gervais or Michelle Obama.

Q: The best bit of my job is…?

A: Watching my team achieve their goals and ambitions! Also when I complete a project, the sense of achievement I get from this is a great feeling.

Q: And the worst?

A: Sometimes I am so busy with work I don’t get to spend as much time with my team as I wish I could.

Q: Who was your childhood hero?

A: Princess Diana.

Q: What’s your favourite smell?

A: Pretty much all candles (and the smell of them being blown out!).

Q: Where’s your favourite place in Dorset?

A: Hengistbury Head for a nice dog walk.

Q: What advice would you give to anyone starting out on a career?

A: Make sure you really consider the company you go and work for. There are some fantastic brands and companies out there and it is not worth settling in a job you aren’t happy in when your dream job could be just around the corner!

Q: What was your first record/CD?

A: Spice by The Spice Girls.

Q: What gets you angry?

A: People not being nice to animals.

Q: Do you have a favourite piece of music?

A: Manhattan – Kings of Leon.

Q: What are the qualities you look for in a new employee?

A: Positive attitude and the will to get things done is hugely important. For me, it is usually more important than skillset as most things can be taught but having a positive attitude and will to get the job done is what makes a great employee who will no doubt go far.

Q: What’s your favourite food or dish?

A: Thai panang curry (any Asian food really).

Q: Steamed sponge pudding and custard or a plate of melon?

A: Steamed sponge pudding and custard.

Q: Name the best thing about living/working in Dorset?

A: Being in walking distance from the beach, both from home and from the office.

Q: If you were Prime Minister for the day what would be the first thing you do?

A: Start various initiatives around sustainability and saving our oceans!

Q: What’s your biggest frustration?

A: The media’s constant scaremongering and social media dictating what we see, instead of just seeing my wonderful family and friends.

Q:  Where’s your favourite holiday location?

A: Koh Tao and Koh Phangan Islands, Thailand.

Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?

A: Hopefully with a family, a nice home and having a long standing successful business where my team are happy and healthy.

Q: What would you like to be remembered for?

A: Being a loyal and trusting friend, partner and colleague.
