The sun was shining, the frozen margaritas were flowing and the excitement was palpable!

Speak Easy, the new go-to event for BCP’s creative, digital and tech industry got off to a spectacular start at The Hacienda in Bournemouth with around 80 attending.

After almost three long years of next to no social networking events, the industries that thrive off social interaction finally got the chance to get together, catch up and meet new faces.

Anthony Story, Director at Silicon South – the not-for-profit organisation dedicated to accelerating the digital economy in Dorset – said: “After too many conversations surrounding the lack of opportunities to get together, Silicon South pulled together an amazing group of people who all shared the same goal – putting on an easy-going, inclusive event for the industry that gets people together.

“Just a few months later Speak Easy was created, and it was a breath of fresh air after the last few years.”

Becky Willis, New Business Director at Just After Midnight, added: ‘It was fantastic to see so many faces – both old and new – show up.

“We were thrilled with the turnout, and the general feedback was that everyone has really missed getting together.

“We can’t wait to do it all over again.”

Speak Easy was created as a friendly space for both those that have been in the industry for years, and also newcomers, to come together.

The team have big ambitions to grow the event and are already planning the next one for September.

Cat Gold, Client Relationship Manager at Uprated, said: “It was particularly awesome to meet all the new faces who have stepped into the industry during the pandemic and show them that there are plenty of friendly individuals around ready to give them a very warm welcome.”
